William grew up in Brooklyn with his mother & grandfather. He attended UNC at Chapel Hill and married Carolyn Thompson and they have 3 children, 2 sons, 1 daughter and son in law Stephen Kurt Vogel.
An American businessman, inventor and co-creator of Sturm, Ruger firearms, who wanted to make an accurate, reliable firearm for the average citizen. He dabbled in creating a new automobile, the Ruger Special and a 92-foot yacht, the Titania. His business partner, Alexander McCormick Strum.
His funeral service was at the Blue Mountain Forrest Association, Central Station Rd., Croydon, New Hampshire with Rev. Donna Leslie officiating.
