Thomas Francis Keating III, 77 passed away peacefully Thursday November 17, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Kathryn Keating. He is survived by his brother David and Joan Keating, Dallas, Pa.; his niece and nephews, Thomas and Rune Keating, Elizabeth and Rob Foster, Michael Keating; cousin Mary Gertrude Swartz, Fl.; great nieces and nephews Clara Foster, Declan Foster, Sadie Keating, Anjali Keating. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and attended Christ the King Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Syracuse May 21, 1966. He was Fire Chaplain for the Town of Maine Fire Department and very active in fire service in local and state levels. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of the Bob Dwyer Fishing Club. He was an avid skier, hunter and ham radio operator. His great nieces and nephew were the light of his life. He was a man full of Irish wit and humor and was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith and lived his entire life with grace and dignity. A Funeral Mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tom may be made to Maine Fire Department, 29 McGregor Avenue, Maine, NY 13802.
