She was born December 27, 1962 in Jamestown, the daughter of Lona Sample Howard and the late Everette R. Howard.
Barbara was a teacher’s aide, at Chautauqua Lake Central School and she was a cook at Red Line Drive In, in Mayville.
She was a member of the Chautauqua County 4 H, Ashville Fire Department Auxiliary and she was chairperson for Ashville Fire District Board of Commissioners, she also belonged to Chautauqua County Beef Producers Association.
Barbara loved animals, especially cows and her dogs. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved seeing her grandsons.
She is survived by her mother, Lona Howard; four children, Jennifer (Matthew) Zakrzewski of Fort Benning, GA, Jonathan M. Hoyt of Ashville, Patricia A. (Michael Lowe) Hoyt of Busti, and Lauren M. Hoyt of Ashville; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Mason Zakrzewski of Fort Benning, GA; four sisters, Linda (Jeff) Willoughby of Cassadaga, Carolyn Howard of Warren, PA, Betty (Jeremy) Catanese of Stockton, and Debra (Rob Clark) Howard of Stockton; several nieces and nephews; and her father in-law, David Hoyt of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey D. Hoyt, whom she married May 19, 1984 in Chautauqua and who died October 7, 1996.
