Dennis D. “Slim” George Sr., 74, of Wilton, formerly Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Premium Estates on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Visitation will be on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 4-7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on November 22, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Memorials may be directed to the family in Dennis’ name.

Dennis was born on August 8, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Curtis and Doris (Rohr) George. Dennis was a devoted family man who spent much time raising his five children and sharing stories and candy bars with his grandchildren. He worked much of his life as a baker and enjoyed cars. Dennis had a deep and faithful connection with our Lord Jesus Christ and instilled these beliefs into his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife Barb George; five children, Dennis (Deb) George of Des Moines, Sheila (Jack) Kamerick of Des Moines, Julie Strause of Texas, David (Tiffany) George of Des Moines and Cheryl George of Muscatine; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Pat) George and Norman (Janet) George.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary; two sisters, Donna and Doreen; and his grandson Austin.
