Jerry Lynn Maxwell, 63, passed away on November 10, 2016, at the VA Hospital, Amarillo, Texas, after a short illness, with his loved ones at his side. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2016, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016, in the Mexia Cemetery.
Jerry was born in Wellington, Texas, the 6th son of the late Ernest and Opal Irene (Young) Maxwell. He married Diana Rodriquez on August 28, 1984, in Memphis, Texas.
Jerry served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy as a Dental Tech. At the time of his death, he was employed with Tyson Foods in Amarillo, Texas. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Diana; daughter, Ashley Irene Maxwell; a son, Brian Lee Maxwell; and brothers, Ernest, Jr. and Johnny Maxwell.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Garza and Steven Rodriguez and wife, Amy, of Mexia; daughter-in-law, Yesenia Maxwell, of Mexia; grandchildren: Madison, Jaley, and Emma Rodriguez, Elijah Garza, Brian Lee, Jr and Aaden Maxwell, all of Mexia; brothers: Wayne Maxwell and wife, Shirley, of Pittsburg, TX, Don Maxwell and wife, Marilyn, of Mena, AR, Ernest Lee Maxwell and wife, Rita, of Claremore, OK, and Harold Maxwell, of Groesbeck; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
