Ernest Galvin Brooks Jr., 58, of Martinsville, died June 19, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, N.C. He was born April 10, 1947, in Martinsville to Ernest G. Brooks Sr. and Joanna King Brooks, deceased.
He was an Army veteran, a member of Mount Zion United Holy Church and had worked at Wal-Mart.
Also surviving are his wife, Brenda Jones Brooks; his step-mother, Gloria Brooks; two sons, Ernest G. Brooks III and Sean D. Brooks; two sisters, Frances Hodge and Josie Edwards; five grandchildren.
Burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens.
