Longtime Cedaredge, Colorado resident, Margery A. Miller, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Paonia Care Center in Paonia, Colorado. She was 94 years of age.

Margery A. Roby was born on December 24, 1921 to Ward U. and Hazel M. (Plumb) Roby in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. She spent her early childhood in Ft. Morgan then the family moved to Estes Park and Craig, Colorado before settling in Cedaredge in 1935.

Margery married James Richard Millsaps on June 10, 1944 in Cedaredge. To this union, five children were born. James was in the United States Air Force so they moved, depending where he was stationed. In 1961, they returned home to Cedaredge. James preceded Margery in death on November 4, 1963.

In July 1972, Margery married A. L. Miller in Cedaredge. He also preceded her in death.

Margery enjoyed crocheting, gardening, reading. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Cedaredge. She started attending about 1935 at fourteen years of age. Her great love was Jesus Christ. Margery was heavily involved in her church tending the nursery, Awana program, deaconess, and a much loved Sunday school teacher for forty plus years. Margery was a comforter for many, with her time, wisdom, food and humor.

Margery is survived by her five children: Patricia (Stephen) Tuck of Paonia, Colorado; Donna Rohwer of Eckert, Colorado; Alen (Janeen) Millsaps of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Janet Stewart of Austin, Colorado and Shirley (Lanny) Roberts of Texas; step-son, Carl (Debbie) Miller of Hotchkiss, Colorado; a brother, Charles (Phyllis) Roby of Fruita, Colorado; a sister, Alice (Dale) Morton of Grand Junction, Colorado; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; two sisters: Ada Nance and Dorothy Miller; three grandchildren: Emily Millsaps, James Stewart and LaDawn Rohwer-Armour; and two sons-in-law: Roger Rohwer and Thomas Stewart.

Memorial contributions may be made to Paonia Care Center, First Baptist Church Awana program, or Hope West.

A memorial service celebrating Margery’s life will be held at the Cedaredge Cemetery, Nov. 26, 2016 @ 11:00.
