Lewis May, passed away surrounded by his family, on Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet, at 7:28 a.m. He was 90 years old, born on July 10, 1926. A resident of Prairieville, LA and native of Denham Springs, LA.

An Army veteran having served during World War II. A faithful member and deacon of Little Prairie Baptist Church for many years. Lewis loved to garden, fish, and go to Bluegrass festivals.

Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visiting on Tuesday, at Little Prairie Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Bruce Worrell and Bro. Cory.

Burial will be at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survived by his wife, Stella Mire May; son, Wallace May and wife, Janell; daughter, Jennie Naquin and husband, Codie; sister, Virginia Salassi; brother, Julius ''Dude'' May and wife, Martha; four grandchildren, Ricki Lynn Gauither, Jason May and wife, Patty, Jeffery May and wife, Danielle, and Robyn Mungia; eight great grandchildren, Shelbi Jones, Sidni Jones, Loki Naquin, Emily May, Hannah May, Kevin Martin, Brianna May, and Elizabeth May; and great-great granddaughter, Marly Roddy.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Diez; grandson, Codie Naquin Jr.; and his parents, Berry and Hazel May.

Pallbearers are Codie Naquin, Jason May, Jeffery May, Kevin Martin, Michael Mullins, and Ray Mullins. Honorary pallbearer, Dude May.
