Kathryn Ann Carter-Russell 78, of St. Joseph, MO, died Wednesday, November 16th, 2016, at Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph, MO.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19th, 2016, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph with Fr. Christian Malewski officiating. Private burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish 4503 Frederick Blvd. St. Joseph, MO 64506.
Born June 8, 1938, in Marshall, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Lester E. (Sonny) Carter and Mabel Bryan Carter. She was a graduate of Malta Bend High School and attended Avila Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. She had a distinguish career at the St. Joseph State Hospital caring for the patients until she retired to care for her own mother. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend in the St. Joseph/Savannah community.
She is survived by her three children: Kimberly Stanley and husband Kevin; Jamie Kafer; and Mathew Russell and wife Shawnda, 6 grandchildren; two great grandchildren, one brother Donald R. Carter and wife Paula of Holts Summit and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Carter of Marshall, MO.
