At 2 o'clock yesterday morning occurred the death at his home in Pleasant avenue, near Belle avenue, of John Pohlmann. Deceased had been ill but three weeks, and death was due to typhoid fever. John Pohlmann was born in Holstein, Germany, July 26, 1870[sic], and came to this city with his parents when but four years of age. He has since lived here, and was for five years connected with the fire department. At the time of his death he was employed by the Bettendorf Axle company as a steam fitter. He is survived by a wife, Amanda, and two children, Herbert and Ruth, and by his father, John C. Pohlmann. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the late residence, and will be in charge of the Arsenal camp of the Fraternal Choppers, of which the deceased was a member. Interment will be at Oakdale cemetery.
