Travis Hamilton "Pops" age 82 of Guin, AL passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born April 11, 1934 in Detroit, AL to Clovis and Drexdel Hamilton. At a very young age, Travis learned to garden and live from God's earth. The next to the youngest of five children, he learned the value of family. He attended Byrd School until the 9th grade, then graduated from Hamilton High School in 1952. In 1955, he married his wife of 61 years Frankie Guin. Working construction and various trade jobs, he finally began is 32 year career at 3M of Guin in 1964. It was in Guin that his four daughters were raised and his home created. Attending the Guin Church Of Christ, he touched many lives through his Christian example, sweet spirit, and eldership. He led sweet, thoughtful prayers and visited many sick and shut ins.

Although graduating from Hamilton, the Raiders had a special place in his heart. He traveled many miles and places to watch football and baseball games, especially when his grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved. If you walked into his home on Saturdays in the fall, the Auburn Tigers would be on TV. Even up until the last game he still asked about the Tigers.

After retiring from 3M in 1996, he began to cultivate more garden spots, often having 3 at a time. He loved working in his garden and watching his creation grow. Many days you could find him all over Guin on his red tractor.

He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Frankie Hamilton, 3 Daughters, Vicky (Gary) Markham of Centerpoint, AL, Beverly (Robin) Clifton of Guin, AL and Rhonda (Richard) Coker of Alabaster, AL, 12 Grandchildren, Mandy (Jeff) Richardson, Kim Bean, Dustin (Shauna) Silas, Heather (Bobby) Bellew, Julie Gardner, Christopher Markham, Amanda (Jonathan) Smith, Nick (Bethany) Clifton, Eric Markham, Paul Coker, Lucas Coker, and Melissa (Karson) Qulas, 8 Great Grandchildren, Madison Silas, Payton Silas, Carson Silas, Brodie Silas, Lily Bean, Ava Bellew, Olivia Bean and Scarlett Bellew, 2 Brothers, Lynwood (Lorene) Hamilton, and Charlie Hamilton all of Hamilton, AL, a Host of Nieces Nephews, Neighbors and Friends,.
