Legally blind man shot to death MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A legally blind man who was out for a late-night stroll died shortly after he was wounded in an apparent robbery attempt in a park near downtown, police said.
Joel David Larson, 21, was shot in the chest just before midnight Wednesday, police said. He then staggered across the street and died. Police said they had no suspects. Relatives and police said Larson, a waterbed salesman who lived less than a block from the park, frequently walked in the park at night. They said Larson moved to Minneapolis from Des Moines, Iowa, in January to take advantage of better public transportation.
