Donna graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and received her R.N. degree from Tri Rivers Career Center in Marion. She worked at MedCentral Hospital for a short time, then changed to the home health care field. Blessed with a giving nature that was always willing to take care of others, the home health care field gave her the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with her clients. Donna was an excellent nurse and saved the life of her neighbor’s little baby when she stopped breathing. A wonderful example of Donna’s concern for others was when she purchased a coat for a homeless man. She believed in paying it forward and her concern for others knew no boundaries. Donna would go above and beyond to help anyone in need.
Donna’s family was her first priority and she showered them with love and kindness. She was a girly-girl and always made certain her hair was done and her nails were painted. She loved camping and fishing, but, most of all, treasured the memories made with her family. Her legacy of love for others before herself will live on in the lives of everyone she knew. Her example of unselfish love and giving made her an angel on earth.
She is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Darren Watts; son, Ryan Watts; step son, Eric Watts; mother, Freda Breedlove Ray; sister, Chris (Jody) Thomas; mother-in-law, Barb Watts; niece and nephew, Cassie Sayre and Cody Ray; great-nephews, Xander, Zayne, Zolan Sayre. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Kim (John) Griffith, Krista (Matt) Porter and Karen (Andy) Tilley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, her best friend and the first man she ever loved, Norman “Don” Ray; father-in-law, Fred Watts; and her beloved poodle, Maggie.
