Belva J. King, age 68, of Chuckey, died, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and the best mom in the world. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. King was a member of the Rook Shack at Orebank and was a CB radio enthusiast who went by the handle of Lady Paintbrush.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa Johnson and James Byrd and April and Russell Binstock; four grandchildren, Alicia Byrd, Casey Schjenken, Samantha Schjenken and Jenna Schjenken; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Shannon Hawthorne and Pat and Wayne Kelton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Junior and Genell King and Willis King; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; numerous friends who were like family; and two special friends, E. J. Johnson and Timmy Brown

Mrs. King was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae King; her father, Auz King; sisters, Nina Henson and Wilma King; and brothers, Weldon and Ray King.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Thomas Cemetery in the Hopewell Community of Madison County, NC with Rev. Willard Norton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Saturday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.Active pallbearers will be Russell Binstock, Casey Schjenken, James Byrd, Phillip Shipley and Cody Shipley.
