Daniel was born in the year 1860 in Carrick Twp; Bruce County. His parents were George & Christina Boettger.

He became the husband of Caroline Hertel on April 05th, 1883 in the town of Mildmay, Bruce County. Marriage Register #001440.

Between the two of them, they raised a family of 9 children in Berlin, Ontario.
