Susan Lynn Carmichael, 64, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away suddenly on November 12, 2016, at home.
She was born on August 11, 1952 in Glen Dale, WV, daughter of Colleen Hefner Carmichael and the late Robert E. Carmichael. Susan grew up in Moundsville, West Virginia, and was a graduate of John Marshall High School, class of 1970. She moved to Florida in the late 70’s. Susan was activities coordinator at Hawk’s Kay Resort in Marathon, Florida. She then was employed at various establishments in the Bonita Springs, Florida area. At the time of her death, she was retired.
Susan loved the sunshine, water-skiing on the Ohio River, Fish Creek, flea markets, yard sales, and hopping on the back of her brother’s Harley to go for a “little spin“. Susan truly was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest “her way”, until the day she died.
In addition to her Mother, Susan is survived her brother, Robert Lee “Hoagy” (Amy) Carmichael of Glen Dale, West Virginia, nephew Hoagy (Bridget) Carmichael, and niece, Charity Carmichael, great nieces; Courtney Allison McCulley, of Moundsville, WV, and Holly Marie McCulley, of Gahanna, Ohio, great nieces, Azalea and Rylee Carmichael and great nephew, Mason Carmichael, her Aunts and Uncles, Rosemary and Jim Kirschner, and Thomas and Jean Hefner: cousins, Tommy, Cathy, Carol, Eddie, Debbie, Pam, and Butch. Also surviving is her special friend of many years whom she loved dearly, Rick Kiskis, and her faithful companion, Peanuts.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Ann (Ruthie) Carmichael-McCulley who passed away on October 16, 2016, maternal grandparents Opal and Paul Hefner and paternal grandparents, C. E. and Pearl Carmichael. In addition to her grandparents, she was preceded in death by her Aunt and Uncle Norma and Lester Berisford, and a cousin Constance Hefner.
At Susan’s request, there will be no visitation. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
