Charles Heron Alcorn, 83, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Charles was born April 4, 1933, in Grasshopper, (Jack County) Texas, to George and Hettie Alcorn. He and Danna Sue Grable were married for 62 years. Together they had five children.
Charles was a member of the Texas National Guard in his early years. He was an aeronautical engineer for Lockheed Martin for over 40 years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of North Side Baptist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on his ranch, raising cattle and loved being on his tractor. He built his own home where they resided for over 50 years.
Charles loved his family and is survived by his children, Brenda (Gary) Galloway of Weatherford, Vickie Alcorn of Weatherford, and Kent (Becca) Alcorn of Salesville; grandchildren, Josh Galloway of Denton, Krista (Thomas) Holman of Granbury, Jonathan (Christy) Alcorn of Springtown, Jeremy Alcorn of Tulsa, Nathan Alcorn of Fort Worth, and Bailey Alcorn of Denton; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Hannah, Abby Galloway, Charley Sue Alcorn and Miranda Hicks.
Charles is also survived by his sisters, Linda Rhodes of Decatur, Thelma Scaia of Hennessey, Okla., Patsy Evans of Mount Vernon, Texas, and Della Joseph of Manderville, La.; and his brothers, Don Alcorn of Gibtown and Billy Alcorn of Mount Vernon, Texas.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Danna Sue, in May of 2014; children, Charlotte Sue Alcorn and Charles Brent Alcorn; and by a sister, Georgie Shewmake.
