DENISON, JOHN BURTON C.M. With saddened hearts we announce the passing of John B. Denison, well-known Canadian pioneer, Order of Canada recipient, beloved husband, father and friend on Saturday, January 6th, 2001 in Kelowna, B.C. Born in the Coldstream near Vernon B.C. on June 30, 1916 "Big John" touched the lives of everyone he knew. He will be greatly missed by his wife Hannah, sons Richard (Carole) of Kelowna, B.C.; John Jr. (Judith) of Rossland, B.C.; daughters Lynne (Glenn) of Langley, B.C. and Donna (Dale) ot Kelowna, B.C. A devoted brother to Barbara Humphreys of Summerland, B.C.; Norah Stewart of Vernon, B.C.; Harry Denison of North Bay, Ont. and Don Denison of Edmonton, Alta; a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, his gifts of generosity, loyalty and integrity will never be forgotten by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial celebrating John's life will be held at Willow Park Church, 439 W. Hwy. 33, in Kelowna, B.C. at 1:30 p.m. January 20, 2001.
