Hotchie Atkinson
Rodney “Hotchie” Atkinson, 59, of Hurricane passed this life on October 12, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by his friends and family.
Hotchie was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lorraine Atkinson.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Darla at home; step-daughter, Shawn, and most of all a loving and caring person to his favorite boys, Bryson, Brady and Bryant Rigney; son, Jeffrey Atkinson and his wife, Missy, of Indiana; daughter, Rhonda Madison and her husband of Indiana; sisters, Pam McCleerry of East Bank, Norma Fields and her husband, Gary, of Pratt and Tracy Hamm and her husband, Ray, of Charleston; brother, Lloyd Atkinson and his wife, Janice, of East Bank; and 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren from his first marriage.
Although Hotchie had done some things he was not proud of he will be sadly missed by his friends and family. The family would like to thank Hotchies sisters for their help, Penny Ratliff and her daughters and the staff at HospiceCare for their support.
A memorial service will be 7pm Monday, October 17 at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank with Reverend Paris Workman officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
