Dr. Lawrence W. Abbott, 71 of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. was a son of the late Dr. John W. and Margaret Wilburn Abbott. He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs and was an osteopathic physician in White Sulphur Springs for 37 years. He attended the University of Virginia, Charlottesville where he played football from 1939 to 1942, and graduated from the Osteopathic School of Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a former member of the White Sulphur Springs city council, former mayor, former member of the Rotary Club and member of the Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Ronnie Faucette Abbott; a son, Larry W. Abbott, Jr. of Humble, Texas; a daughter, Linda Abbott Ahlers of Raleigh, N. C.; and three grandchildren. Burial in Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.
