Nancy Ruth Fort Fitts, 82, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at The Lutheran Home. She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Forsyth County to Samuel E. Fort Sr. and Nancy Andrews Fort. Mrs. Fitts served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death in 1985 by her husband, Harry J. Fitts; and later, a sister, Kate Baity. Surviving are a brother, Samuel E. Fort Jr. and wife Lillian of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Marguerite Craven of Wallburg and Anne Southern of Winston-Salem; and also several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will be in Forsyth Memorial Park.
