  Jack B. Ferguson, 89, a lifelong Ravenna resident, died Saturday, July 23, 2016. He was born April 9, 1927 in Ravenna to Raymond and Hazel (Coit) Ferguson. He was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church of Ravenna, US Army veteran of the Korean War, poultry farmer, and retired in 1992 from the Streetsboro City Schools.
     He enjoyed gardening, genealogy, wood working, traveling, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughters Brenda Bennett and Linda Ferguson both of Ravenna; sons Roy (Theresa) of Akron, Gary (Kellie) of Tallmadge and Doug of Taneytown, MD; grandchildren Alicia, Jessica, Rachel and Jeremy; a sister Jean (Don) Martin of Mantua and sister-in-law Eileen Abel-Errickson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Vivian in 2005.
     Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Laurie Metzko officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. A big thanks to Heather and all of the nurses and aids from Portage Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Portage Medical Center Foundation Hospice Fund, 6847 N.
