Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at a 3:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Cynthia Melancon Reed, 60, who peacefully joined Christ on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia.

Rev. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Mausoleum in Rayne, LA.

Survivors include her loving husband of 33 yrs., Alan Reed of Baton Rouge, her adoring son, Barrett Joseph Reed of Baton Rouge, father, Charles "Buster" Melancon of Rayne, devoted two sisters, Charleen "Nanny" Melancon of Carencro, Sharon M. LeTourneau and husband Paul of Boynton Beach, FL, brother, Ricky Melancon and wife Anna of Rayne, and many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children.

She was preceded in death by mother, Rita Mae Richard Melancon.

Cynthia was born on February 6, 1956 in Rayne, LA and attended all 12 years of school in Rayne, LA. She had a strong passion for helping people with their physical, emotional and personal concerns and touched many live through her business at Herb's Etc. where she practiced as a Natural Heath Consultant for over 20years. She never net a person she did not love and want to help. She was loved by so many people and will be deeply missed by all.
