The Belle Haven community was shocked and grieved on Monday, September 16, when news was received that Karl Woolfenden had passed away at his home in Washington. Mr. Woolfenden got up as usual to go to work but was taken very ill and died before medical aid could reach him.
He was the son of Thomas and Mabel Woolfenden and was thirty-five years of age. He leaves to mourn thier loss his wife, Anna Woolfenden; father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Woolfenden; two brothers, Kenneth and Joe, of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Cameron and Miss Cline Woolfenden of Philadelphia, and Miss Julia Woolfenden, of Richmond, Va., besides a host of relatives and friends. The lovely floral tributes showed the esteem in which he was held. Funeral services were conducted at Belle Haven Church by Rev. Murray Taylor and he was laid to rest in the cemetery there to await the Resurrection. The sympathy of the community goes out to the bereaved family.
