The Austin Daily Herald 1941-10-29 page 7: Albert Emer Ulven was born at Park River, N. D., May 25, 1889. At the age of three years he came to Adams with his parents. Here he grew up and spent the greater part of his life working mostly at farm work. For the past 12 years he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Lloyd Uglum.


Mr. Ulven had always enjoyed good health until two years ago when he suffered a broken leg. Soon after recovering from this he began to fail in health and after a short time he entered St. Olaf hospital, Austin, for treatment. He died Oct. 21.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by four brothers and two sisters: Edward and George of Sioux Falls, S. D.; Fred of Rose Creek, Carmie of Pacific Palisades, Calif. Alice, Mrs. Carl Tucker of Minneapolis, and Irene, Mrs. Lloyd Uglum of Adams.


Funeral services were held at the Little Cedar Lutheran church Oct. 24 with Rev. A. Breivik officiating. Mrs. N. V. Torgerson and Mrs. L. Slindee sang "Nearer To The Heart of God" and "Jesus Took My Burden." Pallbearers were his four brothers, Edward, George, Fred and Carmie, and his brothers-in-law, Carl W. Tucker and Lloyd J. Uglum. Burial was in Little Cedar cemetery.

Funeral services for Emer Ulven, 53, of Adams, who died at 8:10 Tuesday night at St. Olaf hospital, will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lloyd Uglum home and at 2:00 p.m. at the Little Cedar Lutheran church at Adams, The Rev. A. Breivik officiating. Burial will be held in Little Cedar Cemetery.
