She attended St. Olaf College.

Ruth Thune died May 28, 1990 at Adams Health Care Center. Funeral services were held May 30 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Gunderson officiating. Soloist was Jan Johnson and organist was Pat Hinz. Interment was in Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Steve Panser, Kim Anderson, Keith Lillquist, Keith Hanson, Dave Panser, and honorary bearer, David Lillquist.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Panser, Minneapolis; sons and daughter-in-law, Arnold of Adams and Robert and Suzanne, Austin; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Nora Torgerson; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Lillquist and Lenore Dammann.

Information from Little Cedar Lutheran Church, written in 1980:
Ruth Lenore Torgerson was born July 28, 1900, in the Victorian house now owned by Conrad Schissel.

She had two older brothers, Oscar and Nordeen. A baby sister, Agnes, died a year before Ruth was born.

Ruth was baptized in the old white country church by Rev. Eggen. She was confirmed at Little Cedar and her class was the last "all Norwegian class." Then there was a choice of Norwegian or English, but people still felt that Norwegian was the right choice for church.

She attended St. Olaf College and still listens everyday to the beautiful music broadcast by the college.

She was united in marriage to Elgar Thune at Little Cedar. They had five children: Beverly Lillquist, deceased; Barbara Panser of Minneaolis; Arnold of Adams; Lenore Dammann of Elkton; and Robert of Austin. She has 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

As a child she discovered John 3:16 and has clung to that verse all her life.

She has been an active ALCW member in Moorhead, Albert Lea, Worcester, Mass., Chicago, St. Paul, and Adams. She found it very interesting to see the different customs and ways at the different churches, especially in cirles of Ladies Aid.

Ruth is living in her own home in Adams with her son, Arnold.
