Faye Virginia Hicks, 88, of Jacksonville, formerly of Springfield, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016, at Prairie Village Healthcare in Jacksonville.

She was born December 9, 1927 in Monticello, KY, the daughter of Everett and Dina Jones Alexander. On December 14, 1946 she married James W. Hicks.

Faye was a longtime member of East Keys Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and scrapbooking.

She is survived by her six children, Clyde Richard Hicks of Springfield, Danny K. (Judy) Hicks of Chatham, David D. (Linda) Hicks of Springfield, Darrell W. (Connie) Hicks of Springfield, Dennis Joe (Linda Sue) Hicks of Buffalo, IL, and Derlie (Gary) Davis of Springfield; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Jewell Newby and Mary Rubena (Clifford) Alexander both of Jacksonville; a sister-in-law, Ruby Dalton of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband James; brother, Glenn Alexander; and one grandchild, Virginia Ann Tumulty.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at East Keys Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Hillard officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
