Mr. Cook was born April 8, 1897 near Earlham to William and Emma Cook. He graduated from Earlham Academy and married Verle Barnet of Salem, Ore. in 1918.
He had a 39-year career with the U.S. Postal Service and worked in Chicago, St. Charles and Earlham. Following retirement, he worked in mail box marker sales.
Mr. Cook was a member of the Earlham Friends Church.
Survivors include his wife; three children, William of Chicago, and Carlene and Doris of Des Moines; a brother, Walter of Earlham; and a sister Mabel Mowell of Whittier, Calif.
