Killed when bombs exploded after two B-24's
collided during form up after take-off from
RAF Halesworth, England.

Sixteen airmen were killed aboard the two
Liberators and nineteen Army and civilian
personnel died during rescue and firefighting
(Morrill was a ground casualty).
