Mary (Houser) Dobbins, 87 of Fort Smith, Arkansas formerly of Scranton passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in Van Buren. She was born on September 21, 1929 in Porum, Oklahoma to her parents William Frank and Mattie (Cain) Houser. She retired from Wortz Biscuit Company and worked as a CNA for Sparks Hospital after her retirement. Mary was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith. A defender of the Apostolic faith and student of the Bible, she taught Sunday school and lead the Woman’s Prayer group. Mary wrote and published poems, loved to play the piano for others, oil paint, garden and cook. Always willing to help others in need, she will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Frank and Mattie (Cain) Houser; her husband of 55 years, Joseph “Joe” Dobbins; two sisters, Reba Spangler and Faye Houser and one brother, Horace Raymond Houser.

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Dobbins and wife Sharilyn of Fort Smith and Kenneth Dobbins and wife Connie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one brother, Dee Houser of Utah; six grandchildren, Alyssa Dobbins, Dennis Dobbins, Duane Dobbins, Aaron Dobbins, Garen Dobbins and Carrie Hall and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith officiated by Bro. Tim Sullivan and Bro. Ron Patrick. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. at McKendree Cemetery in Subiaco
