Robert Eugene “Bob” Gumbert, 68, of Wurtland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.

Mr. Gumbert was born Oct. 10, 1947, in Ashland, a son of the late Hollis and Imogene Blum Gumbert. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dale Gumbert.

He was a retired laborer for Paradise Pools and Spas in Raceland. He was a sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served in the 11th Cavalry as a combat engineer.

Surviving are his wife, Judy McCulley Dame Gumbert; three stepdaughters, Alisa (Rick) Brown of Flatwoods, Dianna (Jeff) Brown of Georgetown and Anita Dame of Lexington; a sister, Teresa Blevins of Flatwoods; a brother, Jeff Blum of Flatwoods; a stepgrandchild, Tommy Brown; and a stepgreat-grandchild, Carter Manifold.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County, with military rites by American Legion Post 93 in Kenova, W.Va. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland. -
