Funeral rites were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Mills Humphrey Funeral Chapel for Mike Lewis, 72, of 609 North C. Street, who died last Sunday in a local hospital. Rev. H. E. Cacy officiated and was assisted by Rev. Ernest Harrison. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. He was born in Lehigh, August 30, 1891 and had lived in McAlester 15 years. He moved here from Indianola. He retired as a guard at the Oklahoma State Prison five years ago. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Lone Oak. He married Cecila Barlow, Nov. 28, 1929 at Indianola. Survivors include his wife, Cecila of the home; two daughters, Theda Wingo of Tulsa and Norma Epps of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, MIchael of the home, and Truman Lewis of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Annie White of McAlester. Bearers were Ben Plymate, Homer Stokes, Eugene Neil, J. D. Emory, Shafter Clinton and Otto Bryant.
