Gilbert Thomas Casey, 81, of Smithfield passed away at the SECU Hospice House on Monday morning, November 14, 2016. Mr. Casey was a retired farmer and former owner of Casey's Livestock. He was born April 24, 1935 to the late George Daniel and Myrtle Hawley Casey. He is also predeceased by brothers, Jim, Herman, David, Buck, Bill, Bobby, Clifton and Howard Casey; and sisters, Louise, Gene and Eloise. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Casey Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Scottie Casey officiating. The burial will be in the Casey Cemetery immediately after the funeral service.

He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Gene Casey of Oak Island and Thomas Casey and his wife, Karen of Smithfield; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Chuck Johnson of Farmville, grandchildren, Catherine Casey McKnight and husband, Michael of Cary, Jessi Casey Kyle and husband, John of Lucama, Kyle Casey of Smithfield, Casey Johnson of Farmville, Trey Johnson of Farmville; great grandchildren, Kayden Kyle and Kensley Kyle.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home in Princeton. At all other times the family will be receiving friends at 954 Hill Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
