SNYDER, Rodney Wayne, 55, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2000. He was very active in Junior Achievement, the AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans, and the Mail Handlers Union. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served an an honor guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his mother, Lola D. Snyder; daughters and son-in-law, Kimberly Ann Miller and Stephen Edward Miller, Denise Michelle Abshire and Dawn Marie Snyder; grandchildren, Sierra, Shayne, Emma and Abigail Miller, Kayla Abshire, Caron and Cameron Turner; brother, Russell A. Snyder, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Roberta Ann Wilson and James Harris Wilson. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2000 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Deacon Mike Ellerbrock officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
