He was one of five children: Edward, Betty Jane (Wm.C. Nelson) John Francis and Nancy, all born in Armstrong County, Pa.
Paul married Wilda Charlotte Thomas in Pennsylvania. They had four children together: Paul Ellsworth II (Sandy), Grailing Dennis, Wendy (Jim Stefanko) and Tracey(Peter Aglioto).
Paul died in Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, Ohio and is laid to rest with his wife Wilda.
