After the war, Clarence and Mary moved to El Paso, TX because of job opportunities. He became an electrician, joined IBEW Local 583 and worked for one company his entire career. During his many years in El Paso he and his family enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and bowling. He coached youth baseball teams for several years. After he retired in 1984 he and Mary traveled to many cities across the country to attend Major League Baseball games. In 1996 he and Mary moved to Longmont where they enjoyed being close to their son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary, his wife of 63 years, died in 2008. He had four siblings: Paul, Shirley (Quarles), Leon and Frank, all of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Bill and his wife Nancy, grandchildren Kyla Berry, her husband Steve Jones and children Kate, Will and Eli of Longmont and Lyle, his wife Jessica Johnson and daughter Solvi of Salt Lake City. He was a gentle, loving, kind and caring soul who will be remembered as a southern gentleman by those who knew him.
Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Crematory Services. No services are schedule at this time.
