Mrs. Hodil, 84, Sligo Woman Dies - SLIGO - Mrs. Jennie Gertrude Felt Hodil, 84, widow of H. C. Hodil, died Tuesday at her home here following a lingering illness. She was born September 26, 1876, at Emericksville, Jefferson county, a daughter of Rev. Russell M. and Annie Shick Rimer Felt. She married Oct. 17, 1894, to Mr. Hodil, who died in April 1927. Mrs. Hodil was a lifelong member of the Sligo Methodist Church, serving as church pianist for many years. She taught in the primary department of the Sunday school for 62 years. A talented musician, she taught music for a number of years. She was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star and was treasurer and pianist for the OES. She was active in community affairs for many years until ill health forced her retirement. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Louella McConaugheyof St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Gertrude Cather of Ellwood city, and a nephew, Charles E. Felt of Brecksville, Ohio. A brother, Emerson, died in 1921. Friends will be received at the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. today. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p. m. Friday with Rev. J. Lee Gorman, pastor of the Sligo Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Sligo cemetery.
