Maria Caiopoulos McCoy of Ocean City, MD and formerly of Laurel passed away at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin on April 1, 2016. She was 75. She was born on December 29, 1940 in Washington, D.C. to the late John and Sophia Caiopoulos. She was a life member of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed going to the Fireman’s convention in Ocean City. She also loved duck pin bowling, Greek Orthodox festivals and spending time with family and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew John Caiopoulos and brother-in-law Arthur Hilley. Maria is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years Clifford W. McCoy of Ocean City; loving children John McCoy and his wife Denise of Eldersburg, Dina McCoy of Ocean City, and Mark McCoy and his wife Laura of Willards, MD.; brother James Caiopoulos and his wife Bonnie and sister Alexis Hilley; grandchildren Nikolos (14) and Kylan (5) McCoy; nieces Christina and Nicole; nephews Michael and Steven, many great-nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11 am. A private family interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick. Those who wish to follow are welcome. A funeral luncheon will begin at 3 pm following interment at the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department 7411 Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD 20707. Memorial donations may be made to the LVFD Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 699, Laurel, MD 20725.
