Antonio "Tony" Davila, 77, of Leechburg, died 11:05 p.m. Tuesday (April 8, 2003) in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Butler Township.
Born Sept. 24, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Leechburg most of his life.
He served in World War II with the Navy in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Davila was an oven operator at Wean United, Vandergrift, for 35 years before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leechburg.
He enjoyed walking, golf and watching sports.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elvira "Eva" Campos Davila; two sons, Robert (Anita) Davila of Kittanning and John A. (Susan) Davila of Dayton, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Antoinette (James) Favero of Leechburg; five grandchildren; and a brother, Dom Davila of Yucca, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Elvira Davila.
There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at CLAWSONS, Second at Main Sts., Leechburg. His pastor, the Rev. Edward C. Keefer Jr., will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Full military honors will be accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
