Frank Burt was born in Ballarat and enlisted for World War I when he was 18. He served in France. He married Daisy Evelyn Brooks on his return near Ouyen in Victoria, and they settled at Hattan near Mildura on land given to him for his service in the war. They had seven children together, and Daisy died not long after giving birth to their youngest. Frank moved the family back to Ballarat, and left the children in the care of his brother James and his wife, Emily, who was also Frank's mother in law. Frank served domestically during World War II.
His children were: Frank, Leslie, Gladys, Anna, Robert, Donald and Kevin.
