Joe Rex Coleman, age 80, of Nashville, formerly of Daisy, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016. He was born on October 12, 1936 in Greenville, Texas, the tenth and last child of Heber H. Coleman and Rosa Loving Myers Coleman. On January 26, 1962, he was married.

He was a graduate of Royce City High School where he was named All-District in football in 1953 and 1954. In 1954, the team went on to be the undefeated champions of Region III. In 1989, he retired from Otis Elevator as an installer and foreman. Although unable to attend the past several years, he was a member of the Glenwood First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, his son and daughter-in-law, his daughter and son-in-law, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his sister and two brothers.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 13, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood.

Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mount Joy Cemetery.
