Rita retired from Dolbeer's Cleaners following 26 years of service. She was an active member of Maplewood Church of the Nazarene where she was a beloved Sunday School teacher.
Rita is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles E. Rider; two sons, Paul Rider of Springfield and Charles Matthew (Tonya) Rider of Columbus; four grandchildren, Kyle, Steven, Amanda and Nicholas; two great grandchildren, Kiser and Preston; a brother, Michael (Mary Kay) Burke of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Burke; and a grandson, Dillion Rider.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Rita's funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Vicki Case officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Rita's name at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
