Jay Gould Young, 86, of Texarkana, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Season's Memory Care, San Antonio Texas.
Mr. Young was born April 20, 1929 in Sheridan Arkansas. He graduated from North Heights High School in 1947 and married Bettye Jo Coleman (deceased) of Fouke, Arkansas in 1948. Mr. Young enlisted in the United States Air force in 1948. He served tours at bases in Texas, Illinois, Wyoming, Mississippi, Philippines, Germany, and Vietnam. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1974, moved back to Texarkana, Arkansas, and began work at Red River Army Depot in 1975 as an integrated systems mechanic and retired in 1992. He honorably served his country a total of 43 years.
