Jacob C. Knutson was born April 13, 1886, in Mower county, Minn., the son of Jacob S. Knutson and Kari Johnson Knutson.
He resided on a farm at Adams, Minn., until 1943, when he moved to Adams, residing there until 1971. After residing at St. Mark's Apartments, Austin, Minn., until 1973, he moved to St. Mark's Lutheran Home, Austin. In 1977, he became a resident of the Adams Health Care Center, Adams.
His marriage to Hattie Wiste took place Sept. 24, 1913, in Adams. She preceded him in death in 1958. He was engaged in farming and worked as a carpenter.
Mr. Knutson died July 8, 1983, at the Adams Health Care Center.
Survivng are a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Harriet) Weness; grandchildren, Erlin and Jean Weness, Roger and Jan Weness, Janet and Jeffrey Severson; seven great grandchildren; nieces; nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. July 11, 1983, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, Rev. Nancy Wigdahl officiating. Marion Knutson was soloist and Mrs. David Anderson, organist. Interment was in Little Cedar Cemetery with pallbearers, Arnold Asper, Allen Knutson, Willard Knutson, Orville Knutson, Dave Wiste, Harold Wiste. Adams Funeral Home, Adams, was in charge of arrangements.
