Reba Jones, 89, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born the oldest of 7 children on February 14, 1927, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Ross and Ruby (Goss) Robinson. She attended school in Muskogee. After high school, Reba worked for Southwestern Bell and the Department of Veterans Affairs. She married the love of her life, Harold Thomas (Tom) Jones, on August 31, 1946. They celebrated almost 45 happy years together, before Tom's passing on April 5, 1991. Reba was a faithful, long-time member of Chandler Road Church of Christ, serving the Lord and serving others until her death. Reba was an avid reader, and enjoyed playing Sequence, Mexican Train and other card games with her family and the Golden Agers from church. She loved keeping her brain sharp by working crossword puzzles, putting together picture puzzles and playing Trivial Pursuit. You always wanted to be on her team, because she was so knowledgeable in so many different subjects. She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding her family, and many friends. For 7 years, every Wednesday morning, she was at the church by 6am to fix breakfast for the Men's Prayer Breakfast. Her family has many fond memories of her special cakes and pies they received on their birthday. She also helped cook at church camp every summer for years. Reba loved to sing. Many have commented about loving to hear her alto during church services. She also sang at many weddings and funerals. She loved singing with Michael Anthamatten on Saturday nights Amateur Night at the Roxy Theatre. She was known lovingly as "Grandma Roxy". Her priority was her family. She loved her 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was lovingly known as Nana and Grandma, and was loved by many, who will miss her cooking, loving smile, sense of humor and sharp wit. Reba was preceded in death by her husband, Tom. Also preceding her in death were her 3 brothers - Donald, Eddie and John "Butch" Robinson, and 3 sisters - Lottie Osburn, Shirley Greene and Pat Whiteker: and her parents. A celebration of Reba's life will be at 10am Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Chandler Road Church of Christ, 3507 Chandler Road, Muskogee, with Minister Donnie Branscum and Stan Newton, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
