Carl Knutson and Nellie Olena Wiste were married 9/16/1908. Attendants were Jacob Knutson and Alma Wiste.

Arnellie Olena Wiste Knutson, daughter of Caroline Osmundson and Ole O. Wiste, was born April 19, 1886 in Marshall township, three miles northwest of Adams. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, being a lifelong member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church of Adams.
She attended country school and sewing class at the Millinery Shop in Adams. She went to different homes sewing for families of all ages and for all occasions.
On September 16, 1908, she was united in marriage to Carl J. Knutson at the home of her parents. They were engaged in farming five miles northwest of Adams for five years. They then purchased a farm, three miles northeast of Adams.
This union was blessed with three children: Carol, Orville and Myrtle. Mabel Viste Larson and Arthur Viste also made their home with them for a number of years.
She was a member of ALCW and Mission Circle, serving as past president and other offices and on various committees.
The happy couple enjoyed 65-1/2 years of married life. Carl died on March 24, 1974. After her husband's death she continued living on the farm with her son, Orville. She remained active, attending church and circle, crocheting, cooking and caring for herself until October 19, 1978, when she suffered stroke and was taken to St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, She died Tuesday a.m. November 21, 1978.
She was a kind and loving mother, helping and caring for others. She will be missed by all who knew her by her cheery smile and disposition.
Surviving are a son, Orville of Adams; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Carol) Shurson, Adams, Mrs. Clarence (Myrtle) Knudson, Austin; two grandsons, Neal and Allen Shurson; seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl; her parents, one brother, Andrew; one sister, Jeanette and one granddaughter, Helen Shurson.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. November 24, 1978, at Little Cedar Lutheran Church, Adams, Rev. Allen Gunderson officiating. Interment was at Little Cedar Cemetery, Adams. Pallbearers were Neal Shurson, Allen Shurson, Clifford Wiste, Orrin Wiste, Willard Knutson, Allen Knutson. Mrs. Allen Shurson and Miss Diane Shurson were soloists and Mrs. David Anderson organist.
The Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
