Restauranteur Alex Perino who created the celebrated Perino's de lux restaurant in L.A. recently celebrated his 80th birthday at a haute cuisine luncheon party. Was it held at Perino's? No. The party hosted by Hal Hibbard was held at The Tower, the glamorous view restaurant on the 32nd floor atop the Occidental Center, 1150 S. Olive, Los Angeles. The private party also marked the birthday of Perino's daughter Sandra. Both were born September 29th at the same hour--4 p.m. Alex and Sandra were greeted by his friend of many years, Tower Restauranteur Raymond Andrieux. The party was so successful that the Perino's reserved the same table for Alex's birthday next year.
