Joint services held for Rubye M. McKay James and C. L. "Buddy" McKay April 19

Services were held at Swan Lake Association Central Building on Sunday, April 19, 1998, at 1:00 p.m. for Rubye Marcelle McKay James of Marks, who died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident April 15. Rev. L. C. Tyler officiated, assisted by Rev. John Cummings and Rev. Jeffrey Williams. Interment was at Green Hill Cemetery. Delta Burial Corporation of Marks had charge of arrangements.
Born on November 26, 1961, she confessed a hope in Christ at age 6. She was baptized at the Unity Baptist Church by the late Rev. J. D. Rayford and later united with Green Hill M. B. Church pastored by the Rev. L. C. Tyler.
Ms. James attended school in Quitman County and graduated from Quitman County High School in 1981. She received an association of arts degree from Coahoma Junior College in Clarksdale.
She was married for 10 years to Dennis James and they had three children, Keith, Ashley and Kameron.
She worked at the Quitman County Courthouse as Deputy Circuit Clerk for 10 1/2 years.
She is survived by her three children, Keith, Ashley, and Kameron; her fiance Tyrone Keeler, and one grandchild; four sisters, Mildred (Sam) Martin, Thelma Smith, Marilyn (Hamp) Patterson, Mavis (Keith) Randle, and Maxine Mitchem; two brothers, Ben (Sandra) McKay and Conrad (Marilyn) McKay; a stepmother, Earnestine McKay and a host of family and friends.
Her pallbearers were William Caldwell, Charles Sturdivant, David Middleton, Jimmy Warren, Doug Wiggs, and Issac Sturdivant. Honorary pallbearers were Ben McKay, Tyrone Keeler, Kenya McDaniel, Keith James and Kameron James.
A memorial fund to benefit the children of Ms. James has been set up at Citizens Bank & Trust. Donations should be sent to The Marilyn M. Patterson Memorial Fund for the children of Rubye James.
