William was the son of Prosper/Pratt Morris and Sophia (Blanchard) Morris. He married Almira (Blair).

William's sister Sarah married John Muir/Mure the son of Charles and Marguerite Muir. (John is buried in this same cemetery as William Morris. John's wife Sarah (Morris) Mure was buried in Chester, Vermont)
