Gustave A. Bucks, 80, of LeClaire, died Friday, April 18, 1980, at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 20, at McGinnis Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorial may be made to LeClaire Presbyterian Church in his memory.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, at McGinnis Funeral Home Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.

Gustave Albert Bucks was born June 30, 1890, in Scott County, the son of William and Lena (Burkamper) Bucks. He married Anna Florence Putmann in 1918 in Monmouth, Illinois. She died in 1960. He then married Emma Margaret (LeGrand) Heldt in 1962 in Rock Island, Illinois. He was a farmer in the LeClaire and Princton areas, until he retired to LeClaire.

Surviving are his wife, Emma; two daughters, Anna (Albert) Pries of Grand Mound, Alice (Lloyd) Levien of Iowa City; two step-daughters, Florence (Fred) Bachman of Clarence and Jeannette Moeller of Walcott; one step-son, LeGrand Heldt of Springfield, MO; two grandchildren; and four step-grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, five brothers, August, William, Henry, Louis, and Emil Bucks and two sisters, Minnie Holst and Emma Retherford.
